AIM

to determine the co-efficient of viscosity of Glycerin or caster oil by  Stroke's law i.e. the fall of spheres through the liquid.


Apparatus Required

  • A tall glass jar,
  • castor oil,
  • glass beads of different Diameter,
  • stopwatch,
  • screw gauge, etc. 


CONSTRUCTION

  • A Perspex tube of 25 mm dia and one meter long is made to stand firmly in between three upright bars with the help of screws on a heavy cast iron base. One side of the tube is open and other down side of tube is closed .
  • the Perspex tube is graduated.
  • The top of the tube is fixed with a triangular aluminum cup plate with three screws having a Lid which can be removed with the two screws provided.
  • And Liquid can be poured from this side.
  • A set of steel balls is provided.
  • Size of lower base: triangular   12” x  12” X 12”   WEIGHT  approx.  2 kg
  • TOP LID: 500 GM
