The method is usually used for the determination of surface tension of mercury.

CONSTRUCTION

It comprises a circular metallic plate with three leveling screws. A glass slide plate is proved at the top of the surface. 

PROCEDURE

• You put a drop of Mercury Metal on the Glass Plate and take readings with the help of the travelling Microscope for the Upper surface, side of drop, lower side of mercury . then you can calculate the surface tension.
