To find the frequency of AC mains by sonometer method

SPECIFICATION

• Consists suitable electromagnet (a copper wire of 36 SWG is wound (approx. 30 -50 turns) on a bobbin fitted on a metal rod with a non inductive handle having two terminals for connecting transformer.
• SIZE 150 mm x 100 mm( total length) the Bobbin length is approx. 75 mm , The Rod is 14 mm thick with a Flat Extended M.S. Chromed Tip to keep it near the Sonometer wire.
• Step down transformer fixed voltage( 6 V) current 1 Amps is fitted  in a Metal Box Housing with Bakelite Front Plate having Two terminals , one LED with wire & Shoe or (on wooden board with two terminals operates on 220V AC.
• Accessory Required Iron Stand, Sonometer, Weights

Working 

when this electromagnet  is supported  Vertically over wires (with the help of  a  Clamp & Boss head fitted to a metal stand), so that the metal tip of Electromagnet is 6 mm close to the wires  of a Sonometer . then the wire starts vibrating by adjusting the tension and the bridge position maximum resonance can be obtained.
