To find out the frequency of a tuning fork by electrical method 

Procedure

When a DC current of 6-8 Volt 2 amps is given to the electromagnet. It starts vibrating and transmitted to the thread

SPECIFICATION

• BASE A heavy triangular base approx. size 12 inch x 8 inch x 2inch  weight approx. 4 kg
• TUNING FORK Size-14.5 inch x 2 inch x 1 inch thickness of  prolong 8 mm,Consists of a grooved vertical adjustable support. It has a frequency of approximately 60 vibrations per sec.

• ELECTROMAGNET 3.25 inch x 2.5 inch x 4 inch having 300 turn 24 swg, It is arranged between the prongs of the fork without touching it moving on round ROD provided for this purpose to be tightened at any place with a Screw. A small spring type Double strip having a Brass 6 mm round Contact riveted to the strip to make a Spark with the Screw tip . A screw(when adjusted ) just makes contact with this  Contact strip.  It is having two RED & BLACK Bakelite terminals for connections.
• CLAMP G Clamp 3 inch with screw is provided for holding Pulley and pan with thread to be clamped at a distance of 30 cms for observation of vibrations
• PULLEY A Aluminum/Polycarbonate One inch Pulley is fitted on a 12 inch long 6 mm M.S. Chromed  ROD Bent at 30 deg. Angle. 
• PAN 3 inch S.S./Al. pan with a thread for handing and the other side to be fixed to one side of the prolong and the pan is provided for placing slotted weight of desired weight as per the experiment requirement.(Weight at Extra)
