AIM

To determine thermal conductivity of a bad conductor (glass) in form of a disc using Lee's method.

SPECIFICATION

• BODY Consists of cylindrical slab :of brass 11 cms. in diameter x 10.5 mm thick. On this rests a 5 cms. deep hollow cylinder of the same diameter with inlet and outlet tubes for steam. The apparatus is suspended by strings  attached to the lower cylinder.
• HOLES Both the cylinders have radial holes for insertion of thermometers. 
• TEST MATERIAL The material  under test is placed between the two cylinders. 
• three test samples are provided-One card Board ,one Glass Plate and one Bakelite plate
• Both the cylinders have radial holes for insertion of thermometers
• The material Glass (provided)under test is placed between the two cylinders. 
• Stand The apparatus is suspended by strings attached to the lower cylinder. Having m.s. cast iron base 8” x 5” with 18 ' x 3/8” steel chromed rod.
