To determine the Young’s modulus of the material of a given beam supported on two knife-edges and located at the middle point

The consists of two G clamps having KNIFE EDGE which can be fitted on Table with screw provided. A spherometer is fitted on a cast iron body with TRIPOD to be placed in the middle with electric contact is also provided. 

Each bracket is provided with an index which locates the center of the bracket with respect to a centimeter scale attached to the lathe bed.
